Local Government Minister Maciu Nalumisa says the $1.5 million Sukuna Park project is expected to be completed by next month.

During an interview with The Fiji Times recently, Mr Nalumisa said according to the Suva City Council (SCC), the whole project should be completed by end of October, as the only thing left was the podium.

Meanwhile, Mr Nalumisa said the proposed Shirley Park development had some issues that needed to be dealt with, which he was “revisiting again”.

The project has remained idle since 2015, after the launch of the P Meghji Group’s $23 million hotel project by former attorney-general Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

In June 2023, the Lautoka Residents and Ratepayers Association had called for an investigation into the seven-year yet to be completed project at Shirley Park.
