COVID-19 Fiji: Health Ministry reports 66 new cases

Fiji has recorded 66 new cases of COVID-19 infections.

Ministry of Health and Medical Services permanent secretary Dr James Fong said of those, 14 new cases were recorded on August 5, and 36 cases recorded the day after, 10 cases recorded on August 7 and six in the last 24 hours ending at 8am yesterday.

He said of the 66 cases recorded, 23 cases were recorded in the Central Division; 37 cases in the Western Division; and six cases in the Northern Division.

“The Central Division cases constitute 67 per cent of the cumulative total cases nationally, with the Western Division making up 28 per cent, 3 per cent in the Northern Division, and 2 per cent in the Eastern Division,” Dr Fong said.

No COVID death was reported in this update.
