The Fiji Football Association is expected to make a call next week on whether they will have the direct promotion/relegation system for this season.

Normally, the bottom placed team in the Digicel Premier League is automatically demoted to the Digicel Senior League while the winner of the latter competition gains promotion.

Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said they will have a Board meeting on December 11 where this will be decided.

“We will discuss the 2021 season as there has been many ups and downs. We have not had any major tournaments also this year. All will be decided in the meeting on December 11,” he said.

Another contributing factor could be the DSL in the Northern division which is yet to begin.

Tailevu Naitasiri leads the Viti Levu zone while Navua sits at the bottom of the DPL points table.

Nadroga gained promotion last season while Nasinu was relegated.
