A good number of people turned up to a blood drive hosted by the Nasinu Junior Chamber on Saturday.
Assistant general secretary Rohitesh Chand said the blood drive was an annual event.
“We have been doing this for the past few years,” he said.
“Nasinu Junior Chambers is a non-profitable organisation and we do a lot of charity and community work, and the blood drive was one of our activities.
“The turnout was alright despite the gloomy weather we had people coming in while they were here for their shopping and for their family time.
“We had others who turned up but were turned down because of some underlying conditions but overall, it was a good response.”
Mr Chand said the Fiji Blood Bank team facilitated the event.
“We wish to continue because every pinch of blood is going to save somebody’s life as in time. We usually hear about these instances over the news or messages in different Viber groups of people messaging and saying that someone needs blood. We want to continue helping through this blood drives and in the coming years we will plan to bring in new changes and make it better than the past few years.
The blood drive was organised with the support of Motibhai.
