Two political parties are claiming that Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Government Ministers are using prefect induction ceremonies at schools to campaign and are using State resources to force people to hear their campaign promises.

Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry claimed Sayed-Khaiyum has used school functions to campaign and try to influence students of voting age.

He said this was abuse and should be stopped immediately as there was no justification for him (Mr Sayed-Khaiyum) to be attending prefect induction ceremonies.

National Federation Party leader Prof Biman Prasad said the Government ministers were forcing people to listen to their promises.

“They’re using government resources to get the people and force them to listen to them. This is what they are doing now,” Prof Prasad said.
