Members of the public who had bought tickets for the 2021 Coca-Cola Games have the option to refund or replace their tickets before this year’s event from August 4-6 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

This was revealed during a media conference at the Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji headquarters at Laucala Beach, Suva on Wednesday.

Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association secretary Vuli Waqa said after the announcement of the cancellation last year, ticket, holders were told they could have their tickets refunded.

He said while they had refunded close to $100,000, some were yet to come forward which is why he had opened up the option to replace tickets.

“There are some tickets that are still outstanding, but for schools which had bought tickets in stock such as Queen Victoria School and Adi Cakobau School, we have refunded close to $100, 000,” Waqa said.

“With the rest who are left, we will ask them when the Coca-Cola Games begin whether they prefer to get a new ticket or have it refunded.”

Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji sponsorship manager Lawrence Tikaram said those who bought tickets from the Fiji Sports Council would be given the same option.

“We are in discussion with the Fiji Sports Council on the issue because some tickets were bought from their office. With the dates set for the games this year, we have a lot of time to iron these issues.

“With new guidelines being introduced in the games this year, Waqa and Tikaram reassured members of the public who all safety regulations would be taken into consideration.

The ticket stations and sales for this year’s games will be announced soon.
